Lok Adalat settles 116 cases in Poonch

POONCH: A National Lok Adalat was held today here at District Court Complex Poonch, in which Judicial Officers, Bar Members, Bank Employees, litigants and general public participated.

 Presiding over the National Lok Adalat, the Chairman DLSA Poonch, Madan Lal (Pr Distt & Sessions Judge) Poonch highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour and stressed upon general public to come forward to take benefit.

At District H.Q two benches were constituted. First bench was presided by  Madan Lal Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt &Sessions Judge) Poonch  and assisted by Bhanu Bhasin D.M.M(T) and Advocate Mohammad Ishfaq.

The Second Bench was presided by  Som Lal CJM (Chairman TLSC Poonch) and assisted by Advocate Mohammad Aslam Chouhan. The Surankote bench was presided by Aehsan-Ul- Haq Malik(Chairman TLSC/ Sub- Judge Surankote) and assisted by Shafiq Ahmed, Additional Mobile Magistrate Surankote. At Mendhar, the bench was presided by Raj Kumar Lalhal- Chairman TLSC (JMIC) and assisted by Sahil Chandal SDM Mendhar.

A total 146 cases were taken up  including civil, criminal, MACT, Recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases. However, 116 cases were settled by the 5 benches by way of Mediation, Conciliation and compromise, including 9 MACT cases, 64 Criminal cases, 13 civil cases, 4 Bank recovery cases. A total amount of Rs 45.64 Lakh was settled.
