RAMBAN: A team of the Legal Metrology Department (LMD), Ramban, today inspected various business establishments at Ramban, Chanderkote and Nashir to keep check on illegal activities besides ensuring implementation of extent rules.
The team led by Inspector LMD, K. K. Verma booked five traders for violating the Legal Metrology Act and realized a fine of Rs 1500 from the erring traders.
The department has also warned the traders to desist from using unfair trade practices and appealed to the consumers to stay vigilant while purchasing the commodities.
