RAMBAN: Legal Metrology Department, Ramban organized a two day Re-verification camp in Tehsil, Khari of Sub-Division, Banihal with a view to ascertain the accuracy and correctness of weighing and measuring instruments used by the traders for commercial transactions.
Over 70 traders from remote areas like Mahoo, Buzla, Kawna, Patnalla, Ahma and Udhalla attended the camp and got their weights and measures verified and stamped.
Inspector LMD, Batote issued verification certificates to the traders on the spot and collected revenue of Rs.27400 from traders.
Meanwhile the department also conducted inspections in these areas and booked 06 traders for violation of Legal Metrology Act and Rules and collected the composition of Rs 6000 from the offenders. The department shall continue its enforcement drive on a regular basis across the district, Inspector said.
