KU’s Sports Directorate organises 7-day trekking camp at Pahalgam

Srinagar: The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, University of Kashmir, organised a trekking programme at Pahalgam.

Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir flagged off a group of 25 students of physical education for the seven-day programme.

Addressing the participants, Dr Mir highlighted various indoor, outdoor and adventure sports activities being undertaken by the university.

“We are focusing a lot on promotion of sports activities and infrastructure to enable our students to join different sports programmes and make them ready for competitions held at the local, national and international level,” Dr Mir said.

He reiterated that the university is augmenting its sports infrastructure in a big way to boost sports activities for university and college students.

Coordinator M.P.Ed programme Dr Surjeet Singh highlighted various adventure sports activities being undertaken by the department.

Four officials were deputed with the students for the trekking camp, she said. 

Dr Singh also presented a vote of thanks.
