ANANTNAG: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir along with senior officers and engineers made an extensive tour of Sub-Division Dooru to take stock of the pace of progress on various developmental and mega projects in the area.
During the tour, the DDC inspected the Larkipora Bridge being constructed by R&B Division Qazigund and directed the concerned executing agency to expedite the pace of work and complete it by the end of November 2019. He also visited Polytechnic College, Larkipora and directed ACD for fencing the institution. He asked Exen R&B Qazigund to complete the necessary finishing and other works. Principal of the college informed the DDC about the construction of Cafeteria, which has been sanctioned during the current fiscal for which DPR has been submitted.
At Dooru town, the DDC inspected the construction work of a new building at Mir Maidan for Government Girls Higher Secondary. He also visited various sections and wards of Sub-District Hospital, Dooru and interacted with the patients and enquired about the healthcare facilities. Referring to the availability of latest facilities in the hospital, the DDC said that new SDH Dooru with all facilities including Digital X. Ray, CT scan, and lab facilities will be soon inaugurated for the public.
The DDC also visited Dak Bungalow Dooru and asked Exen R&B to submit the copy of design and DPR to his office and stressed for early construction of the new building with heritage architecture and developing of the park, completion of auditorium in GHSS Boys Dooru, tiled path from main entry gate and levelling the ground.
At Verinag the DDC inspected the construction work of 10 MVA Receiving Station of VDA being constriction at a cost of Rs 3.2 Cr at Chenigund and directed Exen PDD for completion within four months and installation of new transformer at the receiving station.
Various deputations from Verinag met the DDC and demanded for holding Awami Darbar and issuance of orders for separate MC for Verinag town.
The Exen on the occasion informed that under APDRP 700 New Polls have been installed and conductors have been laid in Dooru Town.
The DDC also visited the site for construction of Women Collage at Verinag and PMGSY Dooru – Doodwagan 19.50 km road being upgraded by PMGSY at an estimated cost of Rs 1502 Lakhs, which will be completed by end June, 2020.
During the tour, youth of Kokagund village met the DDC and put for the demand for construction of playfield. The DDC directed SDM and Tehsildar Dooru to identify the land and asked BDO and ACD for ensuring its construction under MGNREGA convergence mode.
ACD Anantnag, SDM Dooru, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD, PHE & PMGSY, Dy. CMO, DEPO, and other officers accompanied the DDC.
