Kashmiri attacked in Himachal: police lodges FIR against attackers

SRINAGAR: Himachal Pradesh police on Saturday lodged a First Information Report (FIR) over thrashing of a Kashmiri in Manali.

The incident came just a day after a Kashmiri family was attacked in Delhi.

HP Police in its statement said it has taken cognizance of the incident and has registered a case FIR No: 105/2018 under section 451, 323, 504, 506 IPC in this regard.

Police Officials from Manali have assured of proper action in this matter.

According to reports Hakim Saamir, engaged in travel trade was thrashed by goons at his office in Manali today.

“It is clarified that after ascertaining the facts from concerned authorities it was learnt that the matter pertained to the scuffle and the concerned Police Station in Manali has taken cognizance of this incident and registered a case FIR No: 105/2018 under section 451, 323, 504, 506 IPC in this regard,” said a spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Police Officials from Manali have assured of proper action in this matter,” he said.

Police Officials from Kashmir are in touch with their counterparts from Manali, he added.
