SRINAGAR: Scores of leaders and activists gathered under the banner of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Monday and staged a protest against the recent killing of three civilians in army firing in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The protesters assembled at Abi Guzar and tried to march towards Ghanta Ghar (clock tower) at Lal Chowk Srinagar.

However, a large posse of police intercepted the protesters near Central market Abi Guar and detained many of them.

The protesters raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

On July 7 (Saturday), three civilians, including a teenage girl, were killed in army firing in Hawoora village of Kulgam district.
