LG, Advisors greets people on Raksha Bandhan

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu has extended his heartiest greetings to the people of J&K on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

In his message of greetings, the Lt Governor observed that Raksha Bandhan is a festival symbolic of love and respect between brothers and sisters which defines the unique feature of India’s cultural ethos.

He has hoped that the festival would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, peace and amity amongst all in the society.

The Lt Governor appealed to the people of the UT to follow all the SOPs issued by the Administration in view of the prevailing situation.

He prayed for peace and development in J&K and well-being of its people.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K K Sharma has extended greetings to the people of J&K on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

In a message, the Advisor said that the festival is one of the most important ones in our cultural milieu, being celebrated since times immemorial and denotes the strong bond of love between a brother and sister based on love, compassion and protection. It also strengthens bonds between different communities cutting across the religious lines.

He further exuded hope that it would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, peace and amity amongst all in the society.

The Advisor also appealed the people to follow all protocols put in place  in view of the prevailing situation of Pandemic COVID 19.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar has extended his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on eve of Raksha Bandhan, saying the festival celebrates the sacred bond of commitment between brothers and sisters.

In his message, the Advisor said, Raksha Bandhan symbolises the virtues of love, affection and mutual trust  and reaffirms the strong bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters.

The Advisor said that on this occasion we should rededicate ourselves to upholding the dignity and respect of women in our country.

He added that this festival defines the high place traditionally accorded to women in our society.

Advisor Bhatnagar also appealed  the people to follow necessary guidelines put in view of the Global pandemic of the COVID 19 while celebrating the ocassion and advised them to strictly follow the concept of Social distancing.

The Advisor also prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
