Joint Director Agriculture (E) inspects Mandal Plant Health Clinic

JAMMU: Continuing the efforts of Agriculture Department to gear up the working of Plant Health Clinics in Jammu Division, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), B. K. Chandan, today inspected the working of Plant Health clinic Mandal. He was accompanied by Programme Officer,  Sanjay Dhar during the visit.

Interacting with the farmers, the Joint Director urged them to utilize the services of Plant Health clinic, which is fully equipped for scientific diagnosis of plant diseases and recommendation of proper preventive and control measures. He stressed on judicious use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides with special focus on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques.

Plant Doctor PHC Mandal, Rajeev Singh apprised the visiting Joint Director in detail regarding the functioning and importance of Plant Health Clinics for ensuring the production of high quality disease free food crops. It was informed that clinics are being organized every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month where live-plant samples are diagnosed and results are communicated to the farmers through SMS.

Progressive Farmers of Mandal zone requested for conductance of clinics on weekly bases instead of fortnightly for which Joint Director assured them of positive consideration.
