Jashan-e-Jammu & Kashmir held at Gulgam, Kupwara

KUPWARA: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi,  All J&K  Folk Artists Association,  District Information Centre, Kupwara and Indian Army Kupwara Terries organized Jashan-e-Jammu & Kashmir under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at Model Village  Gulgam, here today.  

On the occasion artists presented a variety of cultural programmes. The traditional Baand-e-paether, ladishah, Rouf, Kashmiri Chakri, besides, Dambali Dance, Dogri Dance, Bachnagam and Solo performance were the main attraction of the programme and enthralled the audience. 

The Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kupwara was the chief guest on the occasion, while as Officers from Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages,   Chairman All J&K  Folk Artists Association,  District Information Centre, Kupwara and Indian Army Kupwara Terries and PRIs, senior citizens, and a large number of people participated in the programme. 

Various speakers spoke on the occasion and it was given out that the J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages is committed to safeguard the art and culture of  UT and efforts are on to provide a platform to  the talented youth of J&K. 

Chairman of All JK Folk Artists Association, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat said that Jashn-e-Jammu Kashmir will be organised across the districts of UT with an aim to promote the local Art and Culture.

Later, awards were given to the artists who have presented best performance in the cultural programme. 

The programme was anchored by Rayees Wathori. Programme was concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Mushtaq Ahmad Khawaja.
