SRINAGAR: Condemning what it termed as the “cold-blooded murder” of a youth in central Kashmir’s Budgam district last night, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday demanded an impartial probe to bring culprits to book.

A spokesman of the outfit said that Ishfaq Ahmad of Magraypora was shot dead by “army soldiers without any justification”.

He said that Ganai was riding his two-wheeler on Chatergam-Gowharpora road when he was hit by bullets near Zenipora crossing.

“He was a carpenter by profession and is survived by his wife and two children. In the same fashion, the personnel belonging to the same camp murdered two persons from Nowgam in the recent past,” said the spokesman.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir demand a high-level probe by some impartial judicial agency so as to bring the real culprits to book and get them appropriately punished, said the spokesman.

He regretted what he termed as the “silence” of the international organizations and human rights bodies.
