Two IEDs defused in South Kashmir

SHOPIAN: The security forces on Friday defused two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts, officials said.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a low intensity IED was thrown towards a police vehicle in Gagran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, which was later defused.

An official said that an IED in a bag was thrown towards a police vehicle at Degree College in Gagran area of Shopian. He said that IED has been defused and a major incident was averted.

He said that the weight of IED was around 6 KG, adding that the investigation in this regard is going on.

Earlier in a day, an official said that security forces found an IED along Circular road on Tahab road in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

He said that IED was defused by Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and a major incident was averted. The official said that an investigation in this regard is going on.
