I-Day arrangement 2023 discussed at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: To discuss the arrangements for the smooth Celebration of Independence Day 2023 at District headquarters, the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Sachin Kumar Vaishya  today convened a meeting of district officers of line departments, here in the Conference Hall, DC Complex.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; SDM, Ramnagar, Shishir Gupta; Chief Planning Officer; Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, SDMs and other senior officers from Civil Administration, Police, CRPF were present in the meeting.

Detailed discussions were held on seating arrangement, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS, fire-tenders, Magisterial duties, Refreshment, Illumination, Transport etc.

It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be held in   Government PG Degree College Boys, where the VIP would unfurl the National flag. The function would start with the Shehnai Vadan in the morning by the Information department. It was decided in the meeting that the rehearsal will start from 5th of August 2023.

The DC stressed upon the officers of different departments to participate in the function with great zeal and enthusiasm and work in close coordination to make the National function a grand success.

 The DC directed the concerned officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the National function. He called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present at the venue, on the day of function.

It was further decided in the meeting that Contingents from District Police, SKPA, CRPF, Volunteers Home guard, NCC and different colleges and schools would participate in the march past. Various cultural programmes reflecting patriotism and rich Dogra culture would also be presented by the students on the occasion. 

Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE and PDD were directed to ensure seating, barricading and drinking water arrangements, besides uninterrupted power supply at the function venue. The Chief Executive Officer, Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue.

Regarding First aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure the deployment of one ambulance along with a team of Doctors and necessary medicine till the conclusion of function. District and Traffic Police would ensure security and traffic management, the DC added.

The ARTO was directed to ensure the arrangement of a sufficient number of buses so that a large number of people turn up for the Independence Day celebrations. Different committees like the Reception Committee, Illumination Committee, etc were also constituted for the successful celebration of the national function.
