Hideout busted, ‘explosive material’ recovered in Awantipora

PULWAMA: The government forces on Thursday busted a hideout in Awanpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered some “explosive material”.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) by a joint team of forces including 42 RR, 130 BN of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police, a suspicious point was spotted.

He said that the BDS squad was called in and after digging at the suspected spot a 250 litres Sintex tank was found. “After opening it, 416 Neogel, 901 super power explosives besides other incriminating material was recovered,” he said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigation is going on.
