Four civilians, among 6 injured in Budgam Grenade attack

BUDGAM: At least six persons including four civilians, a cop and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man were injured on Tuesday after suspected militants lobbed a grenade towards CRPF party in main market Pakherpora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that suspected militants lobbed a grenade towards CRPF party 181 BN in main market Pakherpora on Tuesday afternoon, leaving six persons including four civilians, a cop and a CRPF man wounded.

The injured cop and CRPF man were shifted to Sub District Hospital Pakherpora while the injured civilians were referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.

The injured cop was identified as the Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Ghulam Rasool alias Dilawar while the CRPF man was identified as Constable Santosh Kumar.Both as per the officials have received minor injuries

A police officer also confirmed the incident to KNO. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
