BARAMULLA: As part of ‘Gram Swaraj Month’ being celebrated throughout the UT of Jammu and Kashmir in the month of April, Special Gram Sabhas were organized today across Baramulla district.
The Gram Sabhas were organized under the supervision of District Administration, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Baramulla in which PRIs, all stakeholders, frontline workers and local youth, among the functionaries of the Rural Development Department showed their enthusiastic participation.
Gram Swaraj Month is being observed as an effort to strengthen the Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) so as to realize the vision of Gram Swaraj viz-a-viz democratic decentralization and saturation of 100 points programme targeted by the Govt of Jammu and Kashmir UT.
During the Gram Sabhas, a detailed discussion was held on the 100 points programme which has been recently devised by the Government for saturation. The programme with 100 different commitments and agendas will focus on rural infrastructure, good governance, youth empowerment, environment protection, income and livelihood and women empowerment.
100 Points for saturations include Annual Adoption of Plan 2022-23, PMAY, JJM household plan, JJM School, Hospital, Anganwadi centers, Health &wellness Center, PM Cares, E-Library, Kindergarten, Poshan Vatika, Rural Haat, Har Panchayat Ek Panchayat Ghar, a road to every village PMGSY, property Card, Sthapna Divas, website for all Panchayats, Panchayat Account Assistants, domicile, Aadhar, golden health card, Patwarkhana, Land pass book, soil health card, Panchayat Secretariat, Panchayat good Governance and so on.
The participants, especially PRIs highlighted their issues and grievances pertaining to PMAY, SBM (G), establishment of Panchayat Secretariat, rural connectivity and other individual beneficiary schemes.
On the occasion, several issues were redressed by the RDD functionaries whereas assurances were given to redress other remaining grievances within a fixed time frame. The participants also expressed their feedback and suggestions with regard to socio-economic development and good governance in rural areas which were subsequently noted by the concerned functionaries.
