Geelani, Sehrai condemns attack on Shakeel Bakshi

SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the attack on senior resistance leader Shakeel Ahmad Bakshi, Hurriyat (G) Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said that whichever hands are used to carry out the attack is the mindset behind such planning that provokes people in the name of trivial issues.

In a statement, Geelani appealed people particularly youth to be focused and united to give the enemy a befitting reply to it’s behind the veil conspiracies.

The spokesman added that an extraordinary meeting of Hurriyat Conference a few days back, regarding the charges against its constituent Islamic Political Party was discussed threadbare. In the view of reports and witness of leaders of amalgam, basic membership of above said party was terminated from Hurriyat Amalgam, which was conveyed to its chairman in written.

Senior separatist leader and the founder of the Islamic Students League Shakeel Bakshi escaped a bid on life after some unknown persons fired upon him inside his residence at Bemina area of Srinagar on Wednesday late evening.

Meanwhile Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai strongly condemned the attack on Senior separatist leader and the founder of the Islamic Students League Shakeel Bakshi by unknown people.

While terming the assassination bid a deep conspiracy, Sehrai in a statement today, “such brazen acts have no moral and religious justification at all.”

He said that hurting unarmed and innocent person physically or verbally is not only unIslamic but inhuman behaviour which needs to be condemned in strongest terms, added that anti-movement elements were resorting to such tactics to defame the “freedom movement”.

Sehrai said the Islam and morality don’t allow anybody to hurt someone physically even his political, social or religious opponents, adding that, safeguarding the fundamental rights of others is the noblest and beautiful end of a human being.

Meanwhile, TeH delegation led by Bashir Ahmed Qureshi visited the residence of Fayaz Ahmed Panzoo of Tral and Showket Ahmed of Bijbehada and shared the grief and condolence with the bereaved families.
