SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Monday called Sama Shabir a role model for student generation of Kashmir.
The octogenarian leader saluted the courage and steadfastness of Sama Shabir who against all odds and his father’s absence topped the state in CBSE class 12 results.
Her father Shabir Ahmad Shah is undergoing detention at Tihar jail in New Delhi.
“Geelani nominated a high-level delegation comprising Hakim Ab Rashid, Syed M Shafi, and Syed Imtiaz to felicitate Sama,” said a statement.
“Syed Ali Geelani unable to forward his felicitations in person because of undeclared incarceration at his jail-turned-residence congratulated this young daughter of subjugated nation on telephone.”
