Four CRPF troopers, policeman, civilian injured in Anantnag grenade blast

ANANTNAG: Suspected militants lobbed a grenade at a joint party of the 140 BN CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Khanabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday, leaving four CRPF troopers, a policeman and a civilian wounded.

An official said the injured were rushed to district hospital Anantnag for treatment.

The injured CRPF troopers were identified as Ravinder Singh of Uttarakhand, Mohammad Siraj, Veer Singh of Uttar Pradesh and Vinod Kumar.

The injured cop of Jammu and Kashmir Police was identified as Abdul Majeed of Larkipora, Anantnag and the injured civilian as Abdul Rashid of Tral.

The whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, said the official.
