First randomization of EVMs held at Jammu

JAMMU: In view of  upcoming parliamentary elections, the first randomisation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was conducted today at the District Headquarters here for 11 Assembly Constituencies of Jammu district.

The process was carried out in the presence of representatives of various political parties.

District Election Officer, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, oversaw the proceedings, while the execution of the randomisation was handled by District Informatics Officer, Sanjeev Kapoor.

The event was marked by the presence of representatives from political parties, who observed the process alongside Assistant Returning Officers. Deputy District Election Officer Rameshwar Kumar was also present at the occasion.

For the poll date, April 26, Jammu has reserved an extra 40% of Ballot Units and 39% of VVPATs as a precaution. With 1488 polling stations ready, the district is well-prepared for a seamless vote.
