Educational institutions to remain closed in JK: JK Govt

SRINAGAR: Life in red zones as well as in others parts of Jammu and Kashmir continued to remain affected for the 21th straight day on Tuesday in wake of the lockdown called by the government to prevent the deadly virus from spreading.

Notably, the lockdown has been extended across India with an aim to break the chain of deadly Coronavirus, which witnessed a surge across the India. The announcement about lockdown extension till May 03 was made by Prime Minister Narendera Modi in his address to nation in the morning today.

Witnesses told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the red zones declared by the government remained sealed with authorities keeping close eye to the areas to ensure that no one will enter of exit from these areas as precautionary measure.

The people stayed indoors throughout the day while as the police and paramilitary troopers continued to remain deployed in the roads to enforce the lockdown with erecting concertina wires at any points, thus thwarting vehicular as well as pedestrians’ movement.

The markets also wore deserted look throughout the day while as the vehicular movement was also off the roads, witnesses said. The educational institutions including, Schools, Colleges and Universities continued to remain closed.

The government spokesman, Rohit Kansal in a tweet informed this afternoon that the education institutions across Jammu and Kashmir will continue to remain closed.
