Rajouri: Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Zarri has taken over as Registrar of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri.
A BGBSU spokesperson said earlier Zarri was the Director the South Campus University of Kashmir.
“As a development officer, he has played a pivotal role in the establishment of Offsite campuses of The University of Kashmir. Before Joining the University of Kashmir, Dr. Zarri Served BGSBU as Deputy Registrar. Hailing from District Rajouri, Dr. Zarri holds Ph.D. in wildlife Sciences from the University of Mumbai. He has many international publications to his credit,” the varsity spokesperson said.
He said Dr. Zarri has co-authored two books published by Oxford University Press.
He has been the Principal Investigator of four Major Research Projects sponsored by DBT, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Environment and Forests Government of India.
Dr. Zarri has received Chancellor Award of Merit and is the recipient of Pride of Peer Panjaal Award for his extraordinary contribution in the field of Academics and Research, he added.
