DDC kick starts door to door waste collection campaign in Doda town

DDC flags off waste collection vehicles, directs MC authorities to ensure 100% collection of waste

DODA: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today flagged off two specified vehicles for collection of waste from door step of the households to ensure proper sanitisation across the Doda town.

President MC Doda, Ved Prakash Gupta along with Councillors, EO MC Doda besides other concerned officials of civil administration were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC informed that the campaign is aimed at collection of residential waste from the door step of the households on regular basis in segregated manner and implementing the guidelines of Solid waste management rule in letter and spirit.

The DDC urged the general public not to throw the waste generating from the houses as well as from the shops in open spaces. He also appealed them to follow the practice of segregation of waste material in their own houses and shops and then put in these vehicles so that process of decomposition can be done in easy manner.

The DDC further informed that similar activity has already been started in Bhaderwah wherein the waste is being collected from the door step of the household for its decomposition as per the guidelines.
