DLSA, TLSC organize awareness events to mark ‘World Day of Social Justice’

KATHUA: District Legal Services Authority Kathua today organised awareness events to mark  “World Day of Social Justice”.

The main programme was presided over by Secretary District Legal Services Authority,  Aarti Mohan where painting competition was held on the topic “Gender Inequality” involving 115 students from various schools in the age group of 15 to 17 years. The programme was organised in collaboration with Education department

Another programme was organized at  Labour Department Kathua in collaboration with Labour department.

While speaking on the occasion, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Aarti Mohan explained the audience regarding social injustice including issues of poverty, unemployment and unfair exclusion that results in economic harm or social ostracism. She also stressed on promoting human rights and removing artificial social barriers based on race, gender or religion.

On the occasion, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Brijnesh  Kumari Thakur   highlighted various labour laws for the protection of labour class.

The DEO also spoke on the occasion and explained about various schemes launched by the govt. for the benefit of labour class.

The programme was attended by the members , general public and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority.

  Similarly, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Billawar also organized programme on “World Day of Social Justice” at BDO office Billawar in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Billawar.

In Basohli, programme was held at  the local Court complex in collaboration with Social Welfare department. Tehsil Legal Services Hiranagar organized the programme at  Govt. Model Hr. Sec. School Hiranagar in collaboration with Education department Hiranagar.

In Mahanpur, a programme was held at  BDO office Mahanpur in collaboration with Social Welfare department, while Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bani  organized the programme at the local  Court complex in collaboration with Social welfare department Bani.
