DLC approves 808 HADP, 8 PMMY schemes applications at Kathua

Twin Govt progs bound to transform farm economy from subsistence to self-reliance: DC 

KATHUA: The District Level Committee (DLC) on the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) headed by Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas today approved 808 loan applications here at its meeting held in the Conference hall of DC Complex.

While chairing a review meeting to assess the progress and achievements of the Agriculture and allied Departments, the Deputy Commissioner laid stress on achieving the set targets assigned under the HADP to the Kathua district.

The DC exhorted the stakeholder departments for effective implementation of HADP as the initiative is expected to transform the farm economy from subsistence to self-reliance and create equitable opportunities for livelihood, employment, and market economy. He stressed close coordination with district administration for the implementation of different initiatives at the district level.

“Reaching out to the farmers of far-flung areas and making them aware of the latest technologies in the agriculture sector besides working in collaboration with the representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) for the successful implementation of different schemes at the grassroots level will foster agriculture economy in the district”, he added.

After thorough scrutiny of the applications, the committee approved 629 applications under Integrated Farming System (IFS) and 118 applications under other agriculture projects of the Agriculture Sector received on Kisan Sathi Portal.

Likewise, 26 applications were approved under Assistance for construction of the Rearing House scheme of the Sericulture sector. Similarly, 24 applications were approved who have applied for Development of Fodder Resource and 11 applications under Poultry Development components of Animal Husbandry sector.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner also chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee for Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) to finalise the applications received under different components of the scheme.

The Committee approved 6 applications found fit for establishing Carp Units besides 2 applications under Motorcycle equipped with Icebox scheme through draw of lots which primarily aimed to enhance the livelihoods of fishermen and fish farmers involved in fisheries activities.
