DDC inspects quarantine facilities at GDC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR:  District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla today visited Government Degree College Udhampur and inspected the facilities being provided to the people under Administrative quarantine.

He interacted with staff on duty and asked CEO MC for regular fumigations of the quarantine centres and also advised the staff to follow the SOP.

During the visit, DDC inaugurated disinfectant tunnel at the entrance of GDC which was installed by Municipal Council Udhampur with the help of Mechanical Engineering Department J&K for the safeguard of general public and frontline workers visiting the quarantine centre established at GDC Udhampur.

DDC informed that the disinfectant spray will be showered on the visitors automatically and will help to reduce the chances of spreading Coronavirus. He said that the installation of disinfectant tunnel was need of the hour to contain spread of Covid-19 in the district. DDC appreciated the efforts of Mechanical department J&K and Municipal Council Udhampur for installation disinfectant tunnel.

He urged the people to cooperate and encourage the frontline workers of different departments who are fighting at the forefront against the crisis.

Dr. Singla further appealed the general public to stay home and adhere to social distancing for preventing the spread of the Noval Corona Virus. He said that all the chains of COVID-19 positive cases have been traced, tested negative and all such contacts are under administration quarantine. DDC said that random testing of people from the red zone will be started soon.

Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nagendra Singh Jamwal, ASP, Rajinder Katoch, DDE&C, Subash Dogra, Xen Mechanical Engineering, CEO Municipality, Santosh Kotwal, DIO Er Sajad Somberia accompanied the DDC during his visit.
