District Admin Sgr , PRIs hold brainstorming public interaction at Zewan, Sgr

Srinagar: A massive and brainstorming public outreach program was held by District Admnistration and PRIs at Zewan area of Pantha Chowk, Srinagar today where DDC member for Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain raked up a series of public issues awaiting redressal since past many years that includes establishing a receiving station at Zewan, streamlining stone quarries of Zewan, deployment of more staff at Prime Health Centre Zewan, development of playground Zewan, shifting of irrigation channels from Pampore to Srinagar.

The DDC member also raised the issues of protecting the springs in Zewan, appointing lab technicians at PHE Zewan, and renovation and restoration of cremation ground for the Kashmiri Pandits.

The officers of various departments that include Jal Shakti, Power, Agriculture, besides a large number of locals, stone quarry owners, elderly, youth and members from the local masjid committees and PRIs were present on the occasion.

Municipal Corproator Lateef Ahmed Mir was also present on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Aijaz Asad Srinagar passed the on the spot directions for the immediate grievance redressal system.

The DC Srinagar said that work in the stone quarries will be streamlined and all those associated with it will be able to earn their livelihood in a smooth manner. He said that Zewan will also be connected with the Tanghnar water supply scheme so that people would get clean drinking water. The DC while responding to another demand of Zewan Receiving Station will be upgraded and work restored within 15 days while as springs will be covered and protected under Amirit Sarowar scheme. The DC Srinagar also said that cremation ground for the Kashmiri Pandits living in the area will be renovated within a shortest possible time the PHC Zewan will be provided with the adequate staff including laboratory technicians. He also said that funds will soon be released for the development and renovation of Play ground Zewan while as irrigation channels will be shifted from Pampore to Srinagar.

Er Aijaz expressed his gratitude to DC Srinagar for issuing on the spot directions and prompt response to the public demands. Locals, elderly and the youth of the area hailed Er Aijaz for reaching out to them from time to time and pursuing public issues like a true representative.
