Pesticide dealers Association calls on Director Horticulture Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A deputation of Pesticide dealers Association headed by Syed Mohammad Yousuf today called on Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat and apprised him of their issues.

They said that results of the samples drawn at the premises of the distributor which usually is received after six months should be expedited and it should be ensured that the result must be known in the shortest possible time.

The deputation further apprised the Director that at present only 20 radicles are analyzed here as against 60 radicles and that the capacity of analysis must be enhanced to sixty radicles.

Director Horticulture advised the pesticide dealers to sell only those products that are recommended in the spray schedule and ensure that no unscrupulous element takes undue advantage.

The pesticide dealers assured the Director that they shall advise members to abide by rules, laws and regulations governing the stocking on sale of pesticides.

Director Horticulture informed them that the Principal Secretary, Horticulture Department has already announced to establish two Pesticide Laboratories in North and South Kashmir for strengthening  the testing of pesticides so as to ensure that only quality pesticides are available to orchardists.

These pesticide dealer heads comprised of Syed Mohammad Yousuf, President Pesticide Dealers Association Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad Magrey, President Pulwama, Mohammad Yousuf Niako, President Kulgam and Haji Rafiq Khuram, President Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora.
