Director AH reviews implementation of Govt schemes in Poonch district

Seeks effective vaccination for eradication of Foot & Mouth Disease

JAMMU: Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Vivek Sharma conducted an extensive two day  tour of district Poonch and reviewed the implementation of the departmental schemes in the border district.

She was accompanied by Chief Animal Husbandry officer, Poonch and other senior officers of the department. She inspected several dairy units established under Integrated Dairy Development Schemes (IDDS) and other ongoing projects in Surankote and Poonch. She interacted with the Dairy farmers and apprised them of various Government schemes being implemented by the department for boosting the income of farmers.

The Director inspected District Veterinary Hospital & District Laboratory and also inspected Cold Room for maintenance of cold chain of vaccines. 

Later, in a meeting with the staff, the Director reviewed the progress achieved under the National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP). She emphasized that the Department of Animal Husbandry has taken up the National Programme for eradication of Foot & Mouth Disease in animals by way of vaccination & tagging on a mission mode. The data has to be uploaded on the INAPH portal of Govt. of India daily and this exercise has to be completed by 21st November 2020.

The Director took serious note of the slow pace of vaccination and uploading of data on INAPH portal. She issued on the spot instructions for expediting the activity for achieving the targets within the timeline. She warned of strict action against nonperforming officials if they fail to meet the targets within the timeline set by the Government of India.
