SDH Tangmarg lacks facilities

SRINAGAR: The promises by the previous regimes have remained confined on papers only, and people are still hopeful that their demands will be resolved at earliest while as tourist also feel hesitated to visit at SDH Tangmarag as the centrally located hospital on tourist place lacks basic facilities.

Sources said that people have been demanding for creation of consultants so that health care problem could be resolved once for all, according to them they need Consultant Surgeon, Orthopedic, Consultant Gynecologists and ophthalmologist.

“There should be a team of consultants for round the clock, while as BMO should also remain available during day and night, so that poor patients will not suffer for want of treatment,” said locals.

Locals alleges that, the present paramedical staff has not been transferred from past several years, and due to their long stay they are not performing their duties as they were supposed to perform, and favoritism has ruined the work culture at this hospital.

According to sources orthopedic post is on papers only where as in reality the doctor concern is working somewhere else in Srinagar city from last few years, while as one orthopedics is visiting Gulmarag on regularly basis thus leaving the patients of Tangmarg to suffer.

Mushtaq Ahmad, a local resident said that, the centrally located hospital between Gulmarag and Magam is lacking of digital X-Ray plant which was need of the hour, which forces the masses to visits private clinics.

“The investigation lab is almost defunct which is without latest machines, examination of test is almost impossible, there are decades old equipments still being used in the lab,” said Mushtaq.

For the welfare of patients, fair price medical shop should be erected inside the hospital premises, at most of the time the hospital remained without essential drugs, said sources. Sources told Street Times that from past several years’ one hospital building is still under construction as the government had committed that the building will be completed by 2018.
