GANDERBAL: To ensure that the destitute, distressed and the migrant labourers stuck in the district do not face any shortage of food material during the ongoing lockdown, amid Corona virus threat, the District administration today distributed second installment of ration kits and Atta bags among the needy across the district.
A fleet of vehicles laden with ration kits and Atta bags were flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal in presence of ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba form the Mini Secretariat, Ganderbal, here today.
As of today 2000 ration kits containing rice, atta, oil, sugar, tea leaves and other essential food items have been distributed among destitute, distressed and migrant labors across the district.
On the occasion the DC informed that the ration will be distributed among those needy people which are identified by the PRI’s, and Tehsildars to ensure that the kits reach the deserving beneficiaries. The whole process of preparation, packaging of the kits and distribution of essential commodities is monitored by the Nodal Officers nominated by the District Administration.
