SRINAGAR: The Department of Community Medicine SKIMS has set up a Blood Storage Unit at health centre Sumbal on 12th of July in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology SKIMS. The inauguration was done by Dr. Rauf-ur Rashid Kaul, Professor, In-Charge & Nodal Officer in the Department of Community Medicine, SKIMS.
This fulfilled a long-awaited demand of the people in this constituency. Also, on this occasion a blood donation camp was held in which people from all walks of life including doctors and paramedics donated the blood voluntarily. Twenty two points of blood were collected during the programme. During this event the participants were made aware of the benefits of the voluntary donation of blood.
