Delhi-based HCMCT Manipal Hospital organises a Walk for Health

SRINAGAR: Encouraging people and motivating them to take care of their health, HCMCT Manipal Hospital, Delhi, organised a walk for wellness today at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar. The walk began at 8 a.m., starting and culminating at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar.

More than 300 students, professors, and doctors of Manipal Hospital participated in this walkathon along with SSP Traffic City Muzafar Ahmed Shah, SDPO Hazratbal Showkat Shaib, Sp Hazratbal Mashkoor Zarger, Dr.Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, Chief Proctor Office University of Kashmir, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar Kashmir University, and doctors from HCMCT Manipal Hospital, Dr Shailendra Lalwani, HOD Liver Transplant, Dr Anadi Pachaury, Surgical Oncologist, Dr Vikram Batra, Consultant Urology, to raise awareness on the importance of health.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Shailendra Lalwani, HOD Liver Transplant, HCMCT Manipal Hospital, Delhi said, “It’s very important to prioritise our health and take special care of ourselves. Making a few lifestyle changes, like eating well-balanced food, maintaining a healthy weight, and taking care of our liver health, will improve our overall well-being and pave the way for a healthier life. In fact, taking care of our liver health is important, as a healthy liver can help prevent liver diseases and it can avoid the need of liver transplant,”.

Highlighting the rising incidence of cancer burden in India, Dr. Anadi Pachaury, Consultant Surgical Oncology, HCMCT Manipal Hospital, Delhi, said, “There has been a rise in cancer cases in the country. Staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can have a great impact on our overall health, and walking is one of the best physical activities that can help improve health conditions and reduce risk factors for critical diseases.
