Dead body of a girl student fished out from river Jhelum near Pampore

PAMPORE: Dead body of a girl student (name with held), resident of Chandhara, Pampore, who had jumped into river jhelum in Saffron town Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday afternoon, has been fished out by some local sand diggers two kilometers down the river, locals told.

The girl student from a local government higher secondary school had jumped in to Jhelum in Frestabal area of Pampore near Char Yaar Masjid Frestabal.

The eyewitnesses told that the student was in school uniform and she had left her bag and identity card on bank. 

Soon after the incident police Pampore and local residents had launched a rescue operation to fish out her. 

The dead body was recovered 2 kilometers away from the spot where from she had jumped in to the river. 

The body was sent to a local hospital for medical formalities. 
Police has registered a case under 174 CrPC and investigation has been taken up this incident. 

Police said that the girl is from Chandhara village of Pampore.

SHO Pampore Manzoor Ahmad told that body will be handed over to heirs after performing legal and medical formalities.
