DDC visits holy cave, takes stock of Amarnathji Yatra arrangements

GANDERBAL District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla, today conducted an extensive tour of the holy cave and took stock of the arrangements being put in place for annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

He was accompanied by Exen R&B and other concerned officers.

The DDC directed the officers and Engineers of concerned departments to ensure all necessary arrangements well in time. He also called for coordinated efforts for the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the Yatra.

DDC, during his visit, thoroughly reviewed the arrangements to be provided to pilgrims along the yatra route at various places like Sonamarg, Baltal and Domail. He also examined the full trek route from Domail to holy cave and passed the directions to the concerned to do patch-work, maintain safe width on the trek and assure that all the hindrances along the route are cleared before the Yatra commences.

The DDC was informed that the Yatra track is completely through and at some places, minor work is in progress and will be completed in next few days. He was also informed that fencing work and installation of high mast lights along the track is going on in full swing and is near completion.
