“Public- officers’ interface must for solving people’s issues”
UDHAMPUR: District Development Council Udhampur, Vice Chairperson, Juhi Pathania today said that a greater interface and a spirit of positive cooperation between public and officers is a must for effective and efficient resolution of public issues.
She was speaking at public grievances redress camp held at Panchayat Ghar Sundla of Tehsil Majalta,
The representatives of different line departments, besides Sarpanches, Panches and civil society members of the area participated in the day long grievances redress camp and deliberated in detail upon day to day issues being faced by the public.
The vice- Chairperson strongly vouched for capacity building as well as precautions and preventions to prevent the anticipated third wave of COVID. She emphasized on the need of religiously following appropriate COVID behavior. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi we are able to ward off the crisis and emerge as a world leader in COVID management,” she hoped.
She called upon the officers to immediately restore the water supply lines, electricity supply lines disrupted due to last flash floods.
She asked the PDD to immediately make provision of poles and electricity wires to the people whose connections have already been sanctioned under Saubhagya. She asked PDD not to charge any tariff from such households till they are supplied power.
She further called upon the need to ensure the provision of clean drinking water supply to each and every household. She called for immediate operationalisation of Rapid Sand filtration plants at Sundla & Majalta. She underscored the need for immediately regularizing GHSS Garh Samna Banj (hanging school). She called for addressing the deficiencies of staff/requirements in various high schools and higher secondary schools of the area. She further called for finally closing a lid on completion of the girls hostel at Garh Samna Banj. The work on the project has been languishing since the last four years.
While taking review of the Social Welfare Department, she called for immediate/prompt redressal of pension related grievances of the people of the area. She said that the issue of handicapped widow and old age pensions needs to be looked into afresh so that to ensure the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes virtually reach the needy people. She instructed the department of Agriculture to penetrate up to the farthest limits of the area and ensure that a new disease which is damaging the maize crops is controlled on a mission mode. She asked for timely supply of drinking water in the area. Juhi also called for restoring all the roads.
