SHOPIAN:- Responding promptly to the challenges thrown by inclement weather, District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today made an extensive tour to various areas of Zainapora Shopian and personally monitored the ongoing developmental works, restoration of electricity and water supply, besides ensuring availability of essential commodities like ration, medicines, cooking gas etc in the whole district.
In the early morning, Sachin visited SDM Office, Zainapora and took stock of availability of power supply, Macadamisation works and other ongoing developmental works on top priority basis within stipulated timeframe and emphasised the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on the ongoing works to facilitate the general masses of the district there. He also interacted with the people of the district and also threw light on some major developmental issues and initiatives need to be redressed in future.
Sachin also visited Aglar and took stock of ongoing work of Aglar Bridge executed by R&B Division Shopian, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.306 lacs and repairment of roads and emphasised the concerned Engineers for completion of the said work of the bridge and enquired about the status of completion of the bridge from the concerned authorities.
DDC, visited Play-field,Wachi and other areas of the District and took stock of the power restoration and availability of essential items there.
Sachin directed the Engineers and officers of R&B and other departments to activate their men and machinery in mission mode besides coordinating with each other to ensure uninterrupted supply of the essential items and services in the district.
Sachin also visited Town Hall Park Shopian, stressed the Officers of Muminicipal Committee Shopian to keep the surroundings of the park neat and clean and make the drainage system function and directed AEE PDD for shifting of damaged wooden electrict poles in the whole of the town at an earliest.
Besides, Sachin visited Clock Tower, Main Bazar Shopian, Coffee Shops Zero Point and Batapora and Sheikhpora Park Shopian and directed the concerned executing agencies to gear up their developmental activities to get them completed withing the shortest possible time for the well-being of the paople and the measures taken to complete them within a fixed timeframe and emphasised them for activating their developmental activities.
Later, Sachin visited and inspected under construnction Slaughter House near Government Girls High School, DIET, Batapora Shopian, the work on which is going on speedily and directed the concerned executing agency to leave no stone unturned in completing it within a stipulated timeframe.
During his day-long visit DDC was accompanied by Chiefthe Planning Officer, Shopian, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, Tehsildar Shopian and Zainapoara, Secretary, Municipal Committee, Shopian, Executive Officer Municipal Council, AEE, JEs and other concerned officers.
