Village Hari in Poonch declared as red zone, adjoining areas as buffer zones

POONCH: District Administration Poonch has declared village Hari, in Surankote tehsil as red zones and their adjoining villages including Mohra Bachai, Sangla, Marhote and Dadi have been declared as Buffer zones to prevent the spread of corona virus after one Corona positive case was reported from the village.

In this regard District Magistrate Poonch, Rahul Yadav has issued orders.

The order further reads, “the area falling within the radius of 300 meters of Quarantine centre, Government Higher Secondary School Hari has been declared as Containment zones”

It is pertinent to mention here that the corona positive patient is labourer and has recently come from Himachal Pradesh.

“The Quarantines who were sharing the same bus/Quarantine Centres/ sampling Center, as that of COVID-19 patients belongs to, Villages namely Aral, Plera, Chilkri, Sansal upper and Mohra java( Panchayt Surankote) has been declared as Buffer zones, “quoting the order issued by the DM Poonch.

“The area has become more vulnerable as far as further transmission of the COVID-19 virus is concerned. It is necessary to break further transmission of the disease in the area and it becomes imperative to take stringent precautionary measures like declaring some villages as containment/red zone and surrounding areas as a buffer zone,” DM said in his order.

Invoking prohibitory orders, the District Magistrate said there would be no inward and outward movement of any person from these villages and the people would stay at their homes to ensure complete lockdown. He said there would be no vehicular movement on internal roads.

The EO Municipality Surankote and Tehsildar Mandi have been entrusted with the duty to sensitize the areas as per protocol. The CMO has been directed to start the process of contact tracing as per the protocol and should also carry out a complete survey of villages within 300 meters of radius where the COVID-19 positive patient stayed.

Special administrators have been deployed for Red and Buffer zones, the administrators have been asked to ensure the supply of essential commodities in red and buffer zones.

The DM Poonch also appealed to the public to follow SOPs and help the district administration in combating the further transmission.
