KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalise arrangements put in place to ensure smooth conduct of Republic Day 2021celebrations in the district.
During the meeting, the DC stressed upon the officers to ensure fool proof arrangements for smooth conduct of the National Event. He directed them to follow Covid-19 protocol strictly and ensure use of masks in the function.
The DC stressed the need for maintaining protocol in seating arrangement and also issued directions to the police department for taking proper protocol of National Flag.
Earlier, ADC Kupwara briefed the meeting about the programme and responsibilities of each officer and it was informed that the main function of the Republic Day will be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara, where National Flag will be hoisted and the VIP will take salute on the March Past. The function will start with Shahnai Vadan at 8 AM.
Entrusting the responsibilities for smooth conduct of the event, the DC asked all the officers including departmental heads, district and sectoral officers to finalise all the requisite arrangements well in advance to ensure smooth conduct of the national event.
Other arrangements including refreshment, illumination, deployment of magistrates, arrangement of cultural programmes, barricading, facility of commentator and availability of fire-tenders were also finalized.
It was also given out in the meeting that Republic Day function will also be held at Handwara and Karnah subdivisions, besides at block level.
Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, CEO, CMO, DIO, District and Sectoral Officers were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Karnah Administration also finalized the arrangements for smooth conduct of Republic Day in the border sub division.
