Training imparted to Polling staff in Kupwara, Handwara

KUPWARA: The District Administration Kupwara today imparted election related training to Presiding, Polling officers and other polling staff of the district at Town Hall Kupwara and Environment Hall Handwara.

 The Deputy District Panchayat Election Officer (DDPEO), Bashir Ahmad Bhat said that the training was imparted to the polling staff to acquaint them with the rules and regulations of election process and implementation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

He said phase wise training for polling staff shall continue in all respective constituencies, adding that total 5500 polling staff have been engaged to conduct the election smoothly and they shall be imparted training phase wise.

The DDPEO gave necessary instructions to the Presiding and Polling Officers with regard to their duties and responsibilities during the election process. He stressed upon them to work in coordination to get best results and implement MCC in letter and spirit.

He further stressed upon the officers to strictly follow the COVID-19 SOPs during the election process.

The Nodal Officer, Trainings, Abdul Hameed Fani monitored the training at Kupwara and Handwara, whileas, Master trainers imparted necessary election training to polling staff including Presiding and Polling officers at both the places.

Meanwhile, 972 polling staff were given necessary training simultaneously at Kupwara and Handwara.
