KUPWARA: Pursuant to notifications for conduct of District Development Council and Panchayat by-elections, District Panchayat Election Officer Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today issued public notices for the third phase for 2 constituencies viz. Hayhama and Qaziabad in the district.
Simultaneously, public notices have also been issued for vacant seats of 7 Sarpanch and 227 Panch seats falling in these constituencies.
As per the notification, the last date for submission of nomination forms is November 18, while scrutiny of nomination papers shall be held on November 19. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 21 and 4th December is the election date (wherever necessary) for the third phase with polling time from 7am to 2pm.
The counting for the Sarpanch and Panch seats shall be held on the same day i.e. December 4. Whileas, the date of counting of votes for DDCs is December 22.
As per data issued by District Election Officer Kupwara, 287 polling stations have been established that include 69 in Hayhama and 218 in Qaziabad. As many as 867 Presiding and Polling officers have been appointed for these constituencies.
