DC reviews progress in implementation of scheme

KATHUA: Thirty eight Kathua villages with over 50% SC Population have been selected by Government of India for development under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY), is a Government of India initiative for the empowerment of deprived sections and aims to achieve integrated development of selected villages through convergent implementation of all relevant Central and State schemes.

The implementation of the scheme in the selected villages was reviewed today here at a meeting chaired by the District Development Commissioner, O.P.Bhagat.

District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim briefed the meeting about the process of implementation in the selected 38 villages of the district with SC population more than 50%.

The DDC directed the concerned departments for speedy preparation of estimates of development works after thorough assessment of infrastructural requirements. He stressed upon the officers to work in coordinated way so that development works get completed within stipulated time.

Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Planning Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Block Development Officers Barnoti, Kathua, Marheen, Hiranagar, Dinga Amb, Billawar, Bani, Keerian and Nagri attended the meeting.
