DDC Kathua reviews progress of Languishing projects

KATHUA: The physical and financial progress of the projects under Languishing project scheme was today reviewed by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua Om Prakash here at a meeting of officers of the line departments.

During the meeting, the DDC took project wise review of physical and financial status of the schemes/ projects of Jal Shakti, Irrigation, Flood Control, Mechanical and Ground water Wing of Jal Shakti, PDD and PWD. Directions were passed to the officers of works departments to complete the languishing projects in the stipulated time frame.

It was informed in the meeting that 16 schemes of Jal Shakti, 07 schemes of Irrigation, 02 schemes of Flood control, 02 schemes of PHE Mechanical, 05 projects of School Education, 09 works of PDD, 07 works of JKPSC and 14 projects  under PWD were taken up under Languishing project scheme to complete the development assets on priority.

The status of ongoing work on Playgrounds and other assets were also briefed by the engineers of executing agencies.

The DC asked all the executing agencies to complete the work without compromising the quality standards. He also directed officers to report bottlenecks if any so that the completion of projects of public importance can be ensured within given time.

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, PDD, PWD, Irrigation, Flood Control, officers of concerned engineering wing and other concerned official’s of administration.
