JAMMU: District Development Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, presided over a review meeting to evaluate the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission projects in the district.
During the meeting, the DDC emphasised the pivotal role of Sub Divisional Magistrates in overseeing the Jal Jeevan Mission works. He urged SDMs to conduct regular reviews and field visits.
The DDC sought updates on ongoing projects and discussed potential challenges. Project timelines were reviewed and reaffirmed. He encouraged all officers to use innovative approaches and motivation to meet targets within the specified timelines. The projects under review included dug wells, bore wells, tube wells, filtration plants and pipe networks. The DDC set clear targets for each division in the upcoming months.
In addressing challenges, the District Development Commissioner facilitated discussions on solutions and helped establish projected timelines while considering these hurdles. He called upon SDMs to work closely with the Jal Shakti Department and contractors to ensure timely project completion.
Concluding the meeting, Sachin Kumar stressed the importance of the Jal Jeevan Mission and the need to achieve associated targets. Despite challenges, he urged everyone to innovate and work effectively to meet these vital objectives.
The meeting witnessed the participation of key officials, including Chief Engineer and Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti Department. Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch and others were also present, with Sub Divisional Magistrates attending remotely.
