DDC G’bl visits Panchayat Halqa Theru, takes stock of public issues

GANDERBAL:  Series of activities were conducted today under Phase 3rd of Back to Village programme here in 42 Panchayat Halqas of the district.

Visiting officers on the occasion inaugurated various works, inspected ongoing developmental works, held public meetings, Gram and Ward Sabhas, laid foundation stones and distributed Kissan Credit Cards Domicile certificates, Sports kits among the beneficiaries besides sports activities were also organized in many panchayats as a part of the program.

The District Development Commissioner, Shafqat Iqbal visited Panchayat halqaTheru where he took feedback from the visiting officer about the proceedings of the ambitious program besides listened demands and grievances of the Sarpanch and locals regarding development of the area who sought his intervention for the early redressal of the same.

He also highlighted the benefits of various individual benefit oriented schemes and asked them to avail the benefits of the same. He also spoke about the ill effects of polythene on our environment and the importance of maintaining hygiene and sanitation.

The DDC urged upon people to participate in the program with enthusiasm as the main purpose of this programme is to collect feedback on delivery of government programmes, undertaking assessment of needs of the villages and implementation of beneficiary oriented schemes at grassroots level.

Later, DDC also visited the Boys High School (BHS) Theru and witnessed the “Tug of War” match. He also felicitated the participating students.

Earlier, DDC also distributed Kissan Credit Cards, sports kits and authorization letters for the Iron Bower System among the beneficiaries.
