DC Ganderbal discusses strategies for better outcome under KP

GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired meeting of line departments to discuss the strategy and arrangements to be made for achieving desirable outcome while observing ‘KissanPakhwada’ (KP) from July 7th to July 21st 2020.

 ‘KissanPakhwada’ is observed with an aim to enhance the flow of advances in agriculture sector and double the income of farmers by way of their cent percent involvement in agricultural related welfare schemes like KCC, PM-KISSAN, RKVY, NMSA, etc.

The objectives that were laid down for observing Kissan Pakhwada during the meeting include saturation of KCC to cent percent farmers, foolproof final list of beneficiaries under PM Kissan, removal of bottlenecks for farmers in obtaining loans against KCC, credit to primary agriculture sector, massive awareness regarding schemes available for farmers and organizing Kissan melas.

To achieve targeted goal in KCC Saturation, the DC directed the SDM Kangan, Tehsildars, Agriculture department and allied wings to associate themselves with “KissanPakhwada” and help the intending eligible beneficiaries related to their sector to approach bank branches for issuance of KCC besides provide handholding in submitting applications to banks as well as obtaining approval for credit thereof. 

Regarding awareness, the DC stressed for involving the experts of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries deparment to make farmers aware of various schemes, technological upgradation required, new seeds and new technologies of cultivation.

While discussing the status of PM-Kissan, the DC asked the Tehsildars to share the list of eligible farmers of the district with Agriculture department at the earliest so that the final list is consolidated to achieve the target on time.

Lead Bank manager Ganderbal and cluster head J&K Bank Ganderbal was directed to ensure that all bank branches of the district have proper hoardings, literatures regarding various schemes available and ensure that branches are disposing favourably loan applications available within a stipulated timeframe so that a substantial credit is approved and disbursed before or during KissanPakhwada.

The DC urged upon all the stake holders to ensure guidelines and SOPs related to COVID-19 are followed while carrying out activities related to the campaign.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, Chief Planning officer, SDM Kangan, ACR, CMO, all tehsildars, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries, Lead Bank manager Ganderbal, Cluster Head and other concerned.
