DC Gbl reviews progress of COVID-19 Vaccination drive in district

GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today reviewed the progress of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive here at a meeting of Health Department.

The meeting was attended by CMO, Ganderbal, District Immunization Officer, Dy. SP HQ besides health Officers and other concerned.

At the outset, District Immunization Officer   gave a brief about the vaccination process. He said that against 5504 registered beneficiaries of para military forces 3,666 have been vaccinated besides among 2671 beneficiaries registered of Health Care Workers and AWWs, 1414 have been vaccinated.

While giving the brief status of vaccination target, the CMO informed that 53 percent vaccination target is achieved in the district. He informed that all the necessary steps have been put in place to ensure hassle free   vaccination drive.

He further informed that various immunization points have been established for effective conduct of the immunization, with a special focus on the collection, storage and administration of vaccine in far flung areas of the district.

The meeting was also informed that the vaccination process is using CO-WIN (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Work) App, an online digital platform developed by the union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which facilitates real time information of stocks, storage temperature and individualized tracking of the beneficiaries.

In the meeting it was also decided that the departments shall nominate nodal officers who are to be vaccinated and shall furnish beneficiary detail to the District Programme Manager for uploading on Cowin Portal.

The DC directed the CMO to expedite the process of immunization in order to ensure the time bound completion of the targets and appealed all the frontline workers to come forward for vaccination on their scheduled date.
