GANDERBAL: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited Govt. College of Physical Education, Gadoora Ganderbal to finalise the venues for the establishment of Strong Room and Vote Counting Centre for the upcoming District Development Council elections.
During the visit, the DPEO took the first hand appraisal of the space and security facilities for establishing the strong room and counting centre for DDC elections.
After thorough inspection of the buildings, the venue was finalised for the establishment of Strong Room and Counting Centre for the District Development Council elections in the district.
While enquiring about the safety standards of Strong Room and counting centre, he stressed that all the formalities including installation of CCTVs, double locking etc. should be ensured.
The DPEO instructed the Executive Engineer R&B department to start the necessary arrangements at the venue as per the specifications and guidelines of the Election Commission.
The DPEO on the occasion was accompanied by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Principal Govt. College of Physical Education, Gadoora, Executive Engineer R&B and other concerned officers/ officials.
