DDC Chairman Anantnag holds deliberations regarding Dist CAPEX plan for next fiscal

ANANTNAG: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Anantnag, M. Yousuf Gorsi today held a preliminary meeting with council members regarding formulation of the District CAPEX plan for the year 2022-23.

The DDC, ADDC and ACP Anantnag were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Chairman emphasized that the CAPEX plan should reflect the needs and priorities of the people. He said in formulation of the plan, gram sabhas must be held at each Panchayat and the plan must be formulated as per the wishes of the people. He said local issues should be given priority and Sarpanches and Panches should ensure the plan is tailored to their local requirements.

Gorsi instructed the concerned officers for facilitating and organising gram sabhas in rural areas and said that coordination among the allied departments is instrumental for ensuring that the plan is implementable. 

The BDCs highlighted the importance of holding Gram sabhas and said that such processes leave least space for discrepancies or anomalies while framing the works plan. 

Various other aspects were discussed during the meeting and it was decided that within a weeks’ time the works programme will be submitted for further course of action. 

ADDC Anantnag while speaking on the occasion said that due consideration to the public demands is the duty and responsibility of the elected members and administration will provide all necessary support in the process. He said that a well drafted works plan with identification of priority works is a key to successful and timely implementation.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, ACP, DDC members, BDC members, Ex. Engineer REW and other concerned officials of the allied departments.
