DC Budgam reviews arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadar & Eid-ul-Fitr

Calls for fumigation of all public places & intensive market checking

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganie today convened a meeting of officers to review and finalize the arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab Qadar and Edi-ul-Fitr.

The DC while taking the department wise review called for making fool proof arrangements required to be done by the departments for these auspicious days.

During the meeting, the DC directed E.O Municipal Committee Budgam to install sensor based fumigation tunnels in the DC office complex to ensure hygienic atmosphere.

He also directed Tehsildars not to leave their headquarters during this prescribed period and ensure strict adherence of guidelines across the district.

 Regarding other arrangements the DC directed all SDMs, Tehsildars to constitute squads in their respective areas to carry out intensive market checking across the district and instructed that no one shall be allowed to do illegal profiteering and hoardings of essentials and if anyone found guilty, the same shall be booked for warranted punishment.

The DC also directed PDD and PHE to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply across the District during these auspicious occasions and added that where it is necessitated the supply should be provided as per the prescribed schedule hassle free.

The department of Animal Husbandry during the meeting informed DC that department has pro-actively executed the arrangements in keeping chicken available at all prominent locations including Budgam town, Magam, Beerwah, Khansahab, Chadora and Chrari-Shareef and informed that sale will also be available through mobile outlets.

Further DC directed CAPD that apart from providing supply of food items they shall ensure that adequate supply of LPG cylinders shall remain available at all places.

“There should be no scarcity of essential items, ensure that implementation of government approved rate list is adhered to in letter and spirit,” he added.

In pursuance to demand of opening of bakery shops, the DC reiterated that before any such step is allowed the service provider will ensure that concerned work force present in the bakery shop are minutely tested for COVID-19 and sanitized before they start their work and that they ensure that social distance and instructions are strictly followed.

In view of present COVID-19 circumstances, the DC directed all Municipality EOs to maintain cleanliness of all public places particularly health centers including their surroundings.

Regarding health/medical services, the concerned authorities were directed to remain round the clock alert on all prescribed days, attend all emergencies and other required services besides minimize unnecessary referrals to Srinagar.

The DC for convenience of general public residing in Soibugh, Chareshareef and Lolipora has directed all concerned banks to remain open during this period subject to keeping social distance as per norms.

Among otherts the meeting was attended by SSP, Amod Ashok Nagpurie, ADC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad, SDMs, all Exens, CAHO,  DIO, Dy. SP Traffic, AD Fisheries, Food Safety Officer, representatives of R&B, PHE, Legal Metrology, Municipalities, FCS&CA and other concerned.
